10 Best Views of the Eiffel Tower From All Around the City
One of the best parts of visiting Paris is stumbling across all the different views of the Eiffel Tower. You’ll catch sight of it down a quiet side street, glowing above the rooftops, or perfectly framed between rows of Haussmann buildings.
This list isn’t just about standing right under the tower, it’s about the viewpoints scattered all around the city, each one offering its own unique perspective on Paris’s most famous landmark.
Rue de l’Université

Rue de l’Université leads straight toward the base of the Eiffel Tower, where the elegant Haussmann buildings on either side frame it perfectly. Walking down this picturesque side street, you get one of the most postcard-worthy views of the tower, with its iron lattice rising above the orderly Parisian façades.
Champs de Mars

The Champ de Mars is the big park that stretches out right in front of the Eiffel Tower. It’s full of open lawns, benches, and wide tree-lined paths where people picnic, relax, or just soak up the view. Besides the main walkway, there are plenty of smaller trails that wind around the base of the tower.
Trocadero

Trocadéro sits directly across the river from the Eiffel Tower and has one of the most classic viewpoints in Paris. It does get busy, but I still love this spot for the straight-on, full view of the tower.
Watching it sparkle from here at night is unmatched – even with the crowds, the perspective is incredible.
Along the Seine

The banks of the Seine offer a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower, especially from the tree-lined Avenue de New York.
Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe has one of the most epic Eiffel Tower views in all of Paris, and it should definitely not be missed. After you climb the spiral staircase to the top of the arch, you’re rewarded with this amazing, quite close-up view of the Eiffel Tower.
Place de la Concorde

Place de la Concorde is a large, historic square in Paris between the Tuileries Garden and the Champs Elysées, featuring an obelisk that was a gift from Egypt. You can see the Eiffel Tower in the distance from the Place itself.
Galeries Lafayette

Galeries Lafayette is a famous luxury department store in Paris, known for its Art Nouveau glass dome soaring above its central rotunda. Visitors are welcome to take the escalators up to the 7th floor to access the free panoramic terrace. Here, you’re treated to incredible views over the nearby Opera Garnier, the Eiffel Tower, and the Parisian rooftops.
Montparnasse Tower

The Montparnasse Tower is the lone skyscraper on the left bank of the Seine River. While it’s often called an eyesore on the Paris skyline, the views FROM the tower are undoubtedly incredible. The rooftop observation deck offers 360° views of Paris, with a pretty unique perspective. It almost feels like you’re in a drone looking at the Eiffel Tower!
Notre Dame

Notre Dame is one of France’s most iconic churches, and the views from its towers are unforgettable. As you climb up, you’ll pass the massive bells and step out onto the rooftop walkway, where chimera and gargoyles frame sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower, the Seine, and the Paris skyline.
Under the Bir Hakeim Bridge

Just south of the tower, Bir-Hakeim is a double-decker bridge – the bottom level is for cars and pedestrians, and the upper level is for metro line 6. This arch that helps support the upper level beautifully frames in the tower.
